Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Construction Management Association was honored for the second consecutive year with Associated Builders and Contractors’ Student Chapter of the Year Award. The national award recognizes an outstanding ABC student chapter for its accomplishments in programming, community service, communications/public relations and interaction with its sponsoring ABC chapter.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Construction Management Association was a top finisher in the Associated Builders and Contractors annual Construction Management Competition, held Feb. 23-27 in Las Vegas as part of the organization’s annual convention. The six-student team represented the college in a field of 34 colleges and universities, most of them much larger, and earned first place in three of four categories: estimating, project management and safety. Pennsylvania College of Technology student Noah H. Jumper, of Shippensburg, was recently awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the Construction Management Association of America Foundation. Jumper is one of two recipients of the 2024 CMAA Foundation Scholarship. His selection was announced at the association’s annual conference, CMAA24, held Oct. 27-29 in San Francisco.
Twenty-six students in Penn College’s Construction Management Association lent their hands last week to a local mission project with a global reach – including to a nation many of the students have visited through a Penn College Global Experience course.
More than 700 students from 20 area high schools and career and technology education centers attended Penn College’s fifth PA Build My Future event on Thursday to discover what a career in the construction industry might look like. Faculty and students in Penn College’s construction and architecture division were joined by 25 industry partners to provide hands-on demonstrations and activities.
